JUNE - POLICY & SYSTEMS CHANGE COMMITTEE MEETING I
MARK YOUR CALENDAR: TWO MEETINGS, ONE MISSION - JOIN US IN JUNE
Join us for the first of two June meetings of the newly renamed Policy & Systems Change Committee (formerly the Legislative Committee). We'll be debriefing our recent meeting with MCEDSV and discussing next steps as we work to position MGLFE as a key voice on examiner competency, SAFE claim reimbursements, and forensic services for survivors of IPV, GBV, and sexual assault across Michigan.
We'll also begin early conversations around what statewide education, training, and competency models could look like for forensic examiners in Michigan - a critical conversation as the field navigates the changes following the dissolution of IAFN. We'll also share updates on MGLFE's incorporation process and what the name change means going forward.

JUNE - MGLFE JOURNAL CLUB
COME AND JOIN IN FOR THE JUNE MGLFE JOURNAL CLUB!
The intent of the Journal Club is to explore current research applicable to our practice. Each meeting of the Journal Club will consist of reporting on multiple articles chosen that are relevant to a specific topic. We then discuss both the information presented as well as our own experiences. Finally, we identify opportunities to apply the new knowledge to our practice.
The topic for journal club and the articles to be read will be emailed about two weeks before the meeting. Because of the potential for using articles that are not open-sourced, we need to have members sign up for the email group if they are interested in attending Journal Club.
If you are interested in attending the next Journal Club Meeting on Thursday, June 25, 2026 at 3:00 PM, please be sure to contact Beth Curley by clicking the link below or at Beth.Curley@trinity-health.org.

JUNE - POLICY & SYSTEMS CHANGE COMMITTEE MEETING II
COME AND JOIN IN FOR THE JUNE MGLFE JOURNAL CLUB!
Our second June meeting of the Policy & Systems Change Committee will focus on moving from conversation to action. Building on the groundwork laid with MCEDSV, our ongoing dialogue with MDHHS, and the initial discussions from Meeting I, we'll continue developing a framework for what statewide education, training, and competency could look like - and how MGLFE can lead that effort.
This is where we start turning ideas into a real roadmap for supporting examiners and the survivors they serve throughout Michigan!
